People leave Character.AI for a specific missing job, not because another logo looks similar. Character.AI's own help center says pornographic content is against its terms and will not be supported. A paid plan on that site does not lift that rule. If the chat you want is adult, you need a different product. If the chat you want is a long story, a voice, or a picture of the character, you may need a different product even when the scene is not explicit.

Content boundaries
This is the most common reason. Character.AI states that pornography is not allowed and is not on the roadmap. Filters can hit a message you send or a reply the character was about to give. Switching products removes that particular ban. It does not remove every rule.
Candy AI, GPT Girlfriend, SweetDream AI, and OurDream are built for adult fictional chat. They still cannot offer sexual content involving minors, and they are the wrong place for intimate images of real people who have not consented. Secret Desires AI belongs in this group if you want a custom adult partner and images, with less public detail on voice.

Memory
Character.AI has its own memory tools for its chats. People still leave when a long roleplay forgets names, injuries, or the last scene. Companion sites advertise memory too. OurDream's pages describe a system meant to carry facts across sessions. GoLove AI's homepage says chats keep history. None of that is a measured recall test.
If memory is the only complaint, and the scene is not adult, try the memory controls on the site you already use before you pay elsewhere. If the scene is adult, move to a product that allows the scene and then judge memory by whether it keeps the few facts you care about after you close the tab.
Roleplay control
Character.AI is a public character library with a filter. Alternatives split into two styles.

Images and voice
Character.AI is a text product with a content ban. It is not the place to generate adult images of a character. If pictures are why you are leaving, use a companion that generates them from the character:
